Long Update

I've had pictures clogging up the camera waiting on our new computer (the old one was giving me trouble with our camera). And we got the new computer back yesterday (for the second time) and so the first thing I did this morning was empty the camera. You get to be the recipient of a very long and picture heavy post. Zombie Max

We have some pretty creative kids in our youth group! We saw some stars in Annie a few weeks ago, Madrigals (a Renaissance-y type Christmas dinner) is this weekend, and one of our students even used Max as a subject for a college class.

It's amazing what he can do with photoshop. Pretty gruesome I would say...

Happy Thanksgiving

We are heading to Ohio for a quiet Thanksgiving with Adam's parents and some guest appearances and meetings with a few other family members.

In true weepy pregnant fashion, I'm thankful for a lot of things and could fill up time with a very long list, but I've got to finish packing.

So as Max would say, "Boggle Boggle!" Gobble Gobble everyone!

This should explain a lot

I've been waiting to share this with everyone and finally get the chance.

The cat is out of the bag for most everyone. We're having Kipp #2 in June.

I've been extremely sick and tired this time around. So tired I haven't even been properly checking my email, and haven't picked up yarn in a good month or so now. In fact yarn makes me nauseous. What do you do when one of the things you love makes you sick? Well apparently I sleep a lot more.

I do have so many visions of things I want to begin, but then I forget all about it when I lay down on the couch for yet another nap. Hopefully things from here on out will only get better.

We couldn't be happier about this situation, as life altering as it's been already. It's definitely been different this time around.... think that means it's a girl?

Fall 2009 Toddler Fashion Report

I'm here to report the hottest in toddler fashion for the chilly autumn weather. Max has been quite opinionated about the clothes he wears lately. He especially loves his choo-choo pjs. They're his favorite. But here are some of the other fashions for the toddler on the go.

Flip flops with everyday wear is perfectly acceptable. Especially if the flip flop is Mama's.


Here Max is sporting his puppy back pack with his music player in the pocket for easy transport. Why carry it when your puppy can? Don't forget to unsnap your onsie and wear it outside your pants. That's very gangster, and it's totally in right now.


Pants- shmants! Who needs them. Not this busy toddler. Just put socks on so your feet don't get cold.


Here's the favorite around here. Need your neck hole to be a little bigger? Pull your arm out and through it. It'll strectch it out in no time. (Max does this with every shirt he can.) The off the shoulder look is totally in right now too. Don't forget to carefully mess your hair up for that no fuss look.


But the all time favorite toddler look is still and may always be the naked look. Bathtime just can't be any more fun than this!

Just some other updates....

I have absolutely no projects to report on. I haven't done a single thing by way of crafting lately. No sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, nothing. I didn't even get Adam's birthday present finished. There's been a whole lot of good old fashioned playing going on around here.

Adam's mom started chemo last week for the breast cancer she's been battling. Keep her (and Adam's dad) in your prayers.

We will be in Ohio the weekend of Thanksgiving. Reserve your Max cuddles now....

We started the transition to Christmas around here yesterday by moving around some furntiture and speculating where things will go. Since it's our first Christmas in the house, it's taking some planning and thinking out loud.

Max had his 18month check up yesterday and is doing wonderfully. He's in the 75% for just about everything and is doing great with his gross and fine motor skills and speech. He weighed 28 lbs 3 oz and is 33.5 inches tall.

Halloween and Busy Busy Busy

We're always busy right? I feel like everything has been amplified lately. The busy-ness has been going on and on for weeks now.

I don't have much to show you by way of crafts. I did make Max's overalls for Halloween and I have an uncompleted birthday present for Adam I'm still working on. Oh and I haven't yet started Christmas. Guess I may not get everything done this year again. But I'll try my hardest.

We had a great Halloween. We trick or treated with Max's best buddy Landon. Max was Dennis the Menace and Landon was a cowboy. Max got the hang of trick or treating, but seemed to think that he should go into everyone's house once they offered him candy. I guess we'll have to have the "Stranger Danger" talk someday.





On Monday Adam and I raked and bagged leaves for 8 hours and it's still not done. As I type, there are still piles in the front yard. Maybe they'll just all blow away if we leave them long enough.

Just call me Nurse Cara these days. Max is finally over his cold that turned into a touch of bronchitis, he's half way done with his antibiotic and is definitely feeling better and coughing less.

But I did return home from a wonderful weekend in Ohio to this:

Adam sprained his ankle during a heated scavenger hunt while I was gone and so we've had a strict ice and heat and brace regimen around the house. And lots of moving pillows to keep it elevated. The other side looks just as bad and his toes are bruised too. Gross.

But the whole point in my blog today is sharing a few projects I've recently finished and given to their owners. And one I've not finished yet. There's always one I've not finished.

I finished the Whirligig Shrug in the nick of time (I think it was still a little damp when it was unwrapped in fact). But it seems well received and I know anything will be adorable on the soon to be here BGF. I'm thrilled with it because it was BY FAR the hardest thing I've ever made, especially for it being so small.


Blocked and wrapped up, I finally left the coordinating hat and scarf for Grammy's birthday. Hopefully she'll enjoy them when she returns from the beach to chilly Ohio.
