Yup totally forgot

my camera again. But I swear I'll have some pictures soon. But Mom, Dad, and Katherine are doing well and trying to adjust to their new life. Doggy Dexter is having a little bit of shock though.

Katherine Grace is here!

I totally forgot my camera in the rush to get to the hospital, but I'm proud to say I got to be the first one to hold the baby (except for of course the parents and medical professionals) and she is the sweetest thing in the whole wide world!
Mom and Dad and Little Kate are doing wonderfully and are already home from the hospital.
We are visiting tonight so I'll have some pictures up soon.
Just don't forget the camera.

My Darby friend....

is in labor! :) Well not so much fun right now, but I think she knows how much fun it will be later. So hopefully tomorrow I'll have some wonderful pictures to show off of the newest member of the Koogler family.

My biggest excuse is....

because I feel crummy I can watch all the TV I want.

So here's my favorite shows for the season (yes I know only part of them have started).

America's Next Top Model

This is a new show for me. I caught a whole season being replayed on MTV one day and things haven't been the same since.
My favorites for Cycle 9: Janet, Heather, Jenah.

Heroes

Second season better than the first? I think so.

Beauty and the Geek

Ashton Kutcher's social experiment. I LOVE IT! This season features two geeks and one beauty from Ohio. In fact one geek is an OSU Engineering student. This makes me chuckle to no end because he looks and behaves like some of Adam's friend and colleagues from college. Hahahahahohohohoho (even a little snort in there just because it's so funny).

The surprise winner for good pilot of the season:
Reaper

I wasn't even going to watch it, but some deep, dark part of me loves everything Kevin Smith does. "A schooner is a sailboat."

Still to come:
The Office on Thursday. Can't wait!

I've been in a funk

Ever since I've been sick, I have not been doing anything. I have not been cleaning my house, crafting, reading, writing, doing any sort of math, anything. I've still got ideas floating around in my head (like the bridesmaid dress, that now I'm starting to doubt my ability on, even after all the encouraging comments), but seem to have a lack of follow through. I even BOUGHT a card the other day instead of making one. Now that's just sad.
Maybe if I completed something, it would get me back in the habit of creating. Any suggestions?

Bridesmaid Dress Shopping...

In October I will be in JessieRae's wedding. I'm so excited, it's just here I go again.... Another bridesmaid dress to buy. I commend Jess for being so nice to her bridesmaids and just request a fall color (purple, orange, brown, burgandy, etc.) but I think I might go with green. Not a bright green, but a good deep green. I've got an idea in my head of what I want, which will of course make it hard to find in the right style and color. So today the great idea popped into my head... Make it! I've done it before, I know I can do it. I just have to think logistically if it's possible to do it in the time allotted (before Oct 26). This gives me a little over a month so I think I could actually possibly accomplish this. Well I guess I'll search online for a pattern close to what I have in my head.

Back to the Living

I'm finally feeling like a person again regarding my health. We've had a long road of sickness for the past week, but I feel like I am pretty much returning to normal. So to answer the burning question on everyone's mind. I did not craft or read anything for over a week. Put's a cramp in the Christmas head start I was trying to get.
But I came prepared today at work with non fiction, an afghan in progress, and some magazines. Now hopefully I won't be bothered by work.... :-)

Yuck!

Yup it was definitely something awful. I didn't leave bed from Wednesday evening till Saturday evening when I finally had to go to work at PBK, where I sat in the back room and ironed for 4 hours for the pending holiday floorset this week. Yesterday I felt better. I even went to PBK for work again and had small group in my home. This morning though, not so good. But I came to work anyway. I don't think I'll make it all day. I think I have a fever again. I just feel Yuck!

Yup it is definitely FALL!

Since traveling to Ohio both Adam and I are coming down with something. I always do, flying on airplanes with all that recirculated air. We normally get "Ohioitis" but this time it's lasted more than 24 hours of us returning. Even sleeping for 10 hours last night didn't cure us of it. Maybe I'll just pick up some 7up and some soup on my way home tonight.

It feels like FALL!

This morning I woke up and it was 68 degrees outside. To those of you up north, that may not sound significant, but for Texas, that's big news. It means we've broken the 70's low stint.
So, to celebrate, I wore a sweater to work today.
BTW, I've kicked the caffiene habit again! Only one cup of black tea a day is all I've been having. After a few days of wicked headaches, it feels really good to not be dependant on coffee for my well being at work.

Nick's Wedding...

My brother's wedding was so much fun this past weekend. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves (with captions of course).

Look at that belly! (not mine but Darby's) Can't wait to meet baby Koogler in just a few short weeks, if not before then!

Quick ones

I have the biggest blog post in the world coming on about my little brother's wedding this weekend. It was beautiful, but quickly here are two quizzes I found this morning in my Google reader of 70 blog updates I missed during my long weekend.
Enjoy and let me know what yarn you are or what European City you should live in. :)

What kind of yarn are you?

You are Merino Wool. You are very easygoing and sweet. People like to keep you close because you are so softhearted. You love to be comfortable and warm from your head to your toes.
Take this quiz!

You Belong in Dublin

Friendly and down to earth, you want to enjoy Europe without snobbery or pretensions.
You're the perfect person to go wild on a pub crawl... or enjoy a quiet bike ride through the old part of town.

Must have a sweet tooth

I must have a sweet tooth around here.... this weekend I whipped up this:

Adam almost mistook it for a real cupcake.

But it is really a pincushion I made for a friend:

Hope you like it Steph!

Craft Preview
I couldn't' resist this fabric from JoAnn Fabrics this past week. I already know what it's supposed to be, but I guess we'll all have to wait for Christmas to find out. :-)

Autumn

Fall has hit around here. At least inside my house. How do we know it's autumn in the Kipp household?

That's right the tv's only channels seem to be ABC and ESPN and Saturdays are spent wearing red, or at the very least gray. And yes, gray is spelled with an a not with an e.
(By the way, Adam had to settle for the VT and ECU game, watching it on mute while he listened to the student broadcast of the OSU vs. Youngstown State game online.)
So what do I do on Saturdays while I'm staring at this scene:

I bake:

Here are some cookies that Adam had been harassing me to make for quite a few weeks now. How convenient they are Buckeye Cookies of our own invention being chocolate cookies with peanut butter chips. Just the right combination of tastes for the first college football Saturday of the year.

The Baking Mishap
I must feel like it's autumn because I also had the urge to make up an apple upside down cake this week too. We had Hans and Court over for dinner to watch their alma mater LSU play on Thursday night to kick off college football season. Bad things sometimes happen when I say, "Oh, I'll just make it up." I should have known.
The cake turned out beautifully

Until we cut to the middle of it...

And this is why I should always use a recipe at least the first time I try to make something new.
It did taste delicious though. Well, the done part did anyway.
