Eleven weeks

Penny has been fussy for a couple of days and Max has been testing our patience and grace. All I can think of is that we had too much fun over the weekend and are now paying for it. I'm typing this standing at the kitchen counter because every time I sit down with Penny she starts wailing. I guess she's been saving it up for 11 weeks. :)
Also, I can't believe my baby is almost three months old.... where has the time gone?
I made homemade applesauce yesterday and gave Penny a taste. She loved it and then I felt guilty for feeding it to her.
This week starts MOPS- on Friday we'll see how many ladies will show up. I'm hoping for 10 that would be my ideal number. Not too many but enough to be fun.
Next week we'll be traveling to Ohio for "vacation" to see family and friends. Especially excited to see my nieces and nephews!

From the other day...

I've got some really great pictures from a really fun weekend, but I'm too lazy to get up and get the camera. So here's some pictures from earlier this week.

Our trip to the farm....

Today we visited the Fon du Lac Farm Park with some friends and had a wonderful time with the animals.
Oh, and the tractor, we also saw two excavators on the way, it's been Max's best day ever. I had a bad Mommy moment while we were there, I was too busy taking pictures and Max got a little overzealous with the pig, Mary Lou. She was hungry and his hand got in the way. I don't think he got bit, I think she just put his hand in her mouth and it scared him, you can see the picture in the slide show.

Here is a slide show of the day because there were too many good pictures! Max topped off the day with a three hour nap.
We had so much fun, I'm sad we just found out about this park and it closes next week for the winter. I know where we'll be next May.

10 Weeks

This week has been a lot of fun with Penelope. She's just discovered her tongue and so is constantly sticking it out and making faces. She's also started batting at toys and is starting to calm just by the sound of our voice or seeing us versus having to be picked up and quieted. I also noticed (sort of sadly) yesterday that she's starting to use her core to sit up versus being a lumpy sack of potatoes.

and some other pictures just for fun

Sometimes Daddy has to work long days, most the time it's ok, but sometimes it makes us sad.
But, on days when Daddy has to work those days, we make ourselves feel better by playing and having popcorn for dinner. I've yet to find anything that can't be cured with popcorn. Max is feeding it to me as I type.

oh and here's a free viewing of a cute baby. that makes me happy too.
and lastly a new blankie for a baby fresh off the hook makes me really happy too...

Summer of Yarn

Here are some pictures of this summer's projects categorized by month. I think I've shown most of them before, but maybe not some of the newer ones. Oh goodness, it makes me realize how much of my life is spent with yarn... is there a better way to spend it?

August 2010

I decided to show off the projects like this because I've been planning my fall crafting and starting to toss around holiday ideas already. Got to get started now because last years handmade for Christmas was a total fail. And Max asked for a new hat today... gotta make that boy his hats. :)

Adam and I had a great getaway to the city. The life of a pastor makes things so funny sometimes. We vacation during the week. It was convenient this time and worked to my advantage because Adam got me tickets to the White Sox game for the Stitch n Pitch. I was super excited, and the only thing that would have made it more fun would have been to have some friends with me... Note to self, meet more knitting friends.

We stayed at the Whitehall Hotel just a block off Michigan Ave and it was great for an old historical hotel. It is just between the Westin and the Four Seasons. The staff was great and the bed was soooo comfy, too bad my internal mother clock still woke me up at 7am. At least that left me more time for shopping.

We hit up Loopy Yarns, a local yarn store (obviously) I've wanted to go to and tried to go to another that was closed even though the hours sign said it should be open. Oh well their loss, I was a customer willing to shell out enormous amounts of money on fibre and therefore spent all of it at Loopy. They were absolutely wonderful there. I will be back.... when I reduce my stash.

There was also a stop at IKEA. I think I may have left some of the store there for someone else... but only a few things.

We ate great food, had a great time being Adam and Cara instead of Mama and Daddy and the kids and Grammy and Nana seemed to survive just fine too.
